“I got involved in the project after the original plans had been drawn up,” says Dave. “These involved the use of a lot of very heavy duty materials to cope with the stress levels on the roof. Working with structural engineers we were able to re-design the project using railway sleepers and timber to create a more pleasing overall effect – and one which proved to be more cost effective too.”

The use of bamboo, grasses and palms creates the effect of a real green oasis – just the refuge needed from the noise and clatter of the working day below.

“Johnsons were recommended by Tony Kirkham at Kew who spoke very highly of both the quality of the plants from Johnsons and the service provided by Simon and his team,” says Dave. “I wasn’t disappointed. The plants were tip top and the service was everything – and more – that I’ been led to expect.”
